Robinhood Chain is new, and new chains attract both real builders and quick scams. Because the ecosystem is young, there are fewer community reputations to lean on. A short routine before you buy, or before you promote your own token, goes a long way. For the basics, read what a honeypot token is.
1. Simulate a buy and a sell
A simulation shows what you would really get back: the real buy tax, the real sell tax and whether selling works at all. The Token Analyzer runs this on Robinhood Chain. See how to check a token before you buy. Warning signs are a failing sell, or a sell tax far higher than the buy tax.
2. Check the creator tax on Pons
On the Pons launchpad the creator can set a tax on every trade, up to a cap that was 10% at the time of writing. A token with a high tax is expensive to hold and to exit, even if nothing else is wrong. A creator tax of 0% is the friendliest to traders. Read how the Pons launchpad works for the full picture.
3. Watch the first seconds
New Pons launches can carry a very high snipe tax in the first seconds, falling quickly. Buying in that window costs far more than it looks. Wait it out.
4. Where is the token trading?
- On the curve: no pool to pull, but price swings can be large and graduation changes how it trades.
- In a Uniswap V3 pool: check how much liquidity there is, who provided it and whether it is locked. See Uniswap V3 on Robinhood Chain.
5. Read the contract
On the explorer, look for owner powers that can change taxes, block wallets, mint more supply or pause trading. Verified source code is a baseline. A token with hidden code or heavy owner powers is a risk however good the chart looks.
6. Study the holders
- One non-pool wallet holding a large share.
- Many new wallets funded from the same place.
- A creator who has already sold most of their supply.
7. Use small test amounts
Buy a small amount and sell it before sizing up. Only increase when both directions work and the result matches the simulation.
If you are the creator
Buyers will do all of this to you. Keep your creator tax low, avoid owner powers you do not need and publish clear links. Tokens that pass are easier to get trending and keep alive. The launch checklist puts the safety steps in order.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Pons token safer because it starts on a bonding curve?
A curve removes the risk of a creator pulling a pool, but it does not remove high creator taxes or heavy holders. Check the settings and the holder list.
How do I find a token's creator tax?
It is part of the token's settings on the launchpad. A simulated buy and sell also shows the real tax you would pay.
Can a young chain make safety checks harder?
Tools and explorers are still maturing, so rely on simulation and on-chain data, and use small test amounts.
