Walk into almost any active token community on Telegram and you will see a stream of messages like "New buy: $1,250". Those come from a buy bot. It is a small piece of software, but it does a surprisingly large job for a community.

What a buy bot does

A buy bot watches your token on-chain. Every time someone buys, it posts a message into your group with the details: how much was bought, who bought it and what the market cap is. Many also show whether the buyer is a new holder or added to an existing position, and include links to the transaction and the chart.

Why tokens use one

  • Social proof in real time. A group where buys appear every few minutes feels alive. A silent group feels dead, even if the token is trading.
  • A reason to stay. Members who see buying activity stay to watch, and it gives a quiet chat something to react to.
  • Transparency. The buys are real and verifiable, with transaction links, which builds trust.
  • Momentum. Seeing a large buy often prompts someone to ask about the token, which starts a conversation.

What to look for in one

A good buy bot is fast, accurate and tidy. Check that it:

  1. Posts within seconds of the trade, not minutes.
  2. Reads trades correctly, including split-route buys that touch several pools, so you do not get duplicate alerts.
  3. Lets you set a minimum buy, so tiny trades do not flood the chat.
  4. Supports the chains your token lives on.
  5. Lets you make the alerts your own with emoji, images and your own wording.

The Mentat Buy Bot

The Mentat Buy Bot is free and runs as its own bot, @mentatbuybot. It supports Solana, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain, posts alerts live (typically within a few seconds), merges split-route buys into one alert and treats dust holdings as new holders instead of showing a silly percentage.

To set it up:

  1. Open @mentatbuybot and add it to your group.
  2. Send your token address and confirm the chain.
  3. Choose the pools: auto-detect is recommended.
  4. Pick your emoji, image or GIF and a minimum buy.

Each alert ends with a small link back to Mentat Booster, which is how we keep the bot free.

Pairing it with the rest of your launch
